The "Not Worrying" Experiment

Let’s let things be easy for a little. Approach changes and new ways of thinking with an “it’s an experiment” attitude, and watch how much quicker you can get on board with the ideas. It takes the pressure off. In this article I share about doing this with your worry habits.

One of my core principles in life is this: everything is an experiment.

It makes it much easier to approach the things you know you’d like to be able do or that would be good for you, but that might feel hard, scary, or unfamiliar. Because hey, it’s just an experiment, right?

One of the experiments I’ve been doing more of recently is the “not worrying” experiment. It’s where, even when your mind tells you you need to, you try out not worrying for a minute, an hour, a day (or more) and just see what happens.

To do this, you can start really small. You can pick something you're worrying about that you know is minor, and experiment with instead, for the next hour, just assuming it's all ok and gonna be ok. With that extra energy and lightness you'll feel, you can put that towards something you care about.

When that time is over, you can go back to worrying, if you want to at that point.

You might find that you don't 😊

Getting support is badass, and such an act of self-love.

If this feels impossible, don't worry. I get it. Been there! You may have some stronger anxiety and worry patterns running the show, that need some deeper level TLC. This can often come in the form of therapy or coaching.

When my clients first come to me, they're typically struggling with anxiety, overthinking, and perfectionism, and together, we help sort through all of that so that they can live a life where they feel deep down peaceful and happy.

So if that's anything you can relate to, I've got your back! You can find out more on how to work with me here.

You are so not alone, and there is a way 😊

Happy experimenting friend :)
